Dr Xin Yu received his PhD degree from the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering in Western   Sydney University (WSU) in 2016. Previously,   he obtained his Bachelor degree from Fujian   University of Technology in 2007 and his Master’s degree from Fuzhou   University in 2010. Before studying in WSU as a PhD candidate, he worked as a   research engineer in National University of Singapore from 2010 to 2013. Dr   Xin Yu has published 12 papers including 2 SCI papers, 4 EI and 2 ISTP in   first author. Dr Yu's research interests are in structural fire performance,   fire resistance design and new concrete materials.

主要内容

In recent years, there has   been a growing emphasis on the utilisation of waste materials and by-products   in construction materials, which is a partial solution to environmental and   ecological problems. The utilisation not only helps in reducing the cost of   cement and concrete manufacturing, but also has numerous indirect benefits   such as reducing landfill cost, saving energy, and protecting the environment   from possible pollution. This presentation presents a study on the   behaviour of concrete made with steel slag and waste glass at both ambient   and elevated temperatures and its application in concrete-filled steel   tubular (CFST) columns.
